Nelson's First MTC email

Hey family! :) so... where should I start? Well. My handwritten letter kind of mentioned about the beginning of my mtc experience. I was paired with 2 elders and we got along pretty well. I don't know if I said this but elder Monk reminds me of tyler and trent porter. He's a pretty cool guy.
I actually got a different companion on Sunday. Elder Perry. He's a cool kid and he and I get along super well; we have a lot of the same interests, especially in music. He's been stuck at the mtc on medical delay, scheduled to get his tonsils out on Tuesday. He says "it's no bueno." he's a good guy though.
The mtc itself is... hectic. They cram a TON of stuff into each day, and I never even have enough time to even like write in my journal at the end of the day. I'm still sick, which makes it hard, but I think I'm getting better...? haha. I'm no longer taking ibuprofen all the time but I'm still blowing my nose frequently. Also, they've changed the way they "teach" here. It's waaayy out of my comfort zone. They teach by trial and error basically. We teach mock investigators, mess up, and then learn what we could and should have done instead. It's definitely not my favorite style (I'd prefer more of the "classroom" style), but hopefully I'll get used to it soon.
Besides that and the "no-time-for-yourself-or-any-personal-needs" thing, I have no other complaints. Lol. It's really not all that bad... just not my favorite. I am continuing in striving to be 100% obedient. The spirit is here and I'm learning; that's the important thing.
Both Elder Holland AND Elder Nelson came and spoke at devotional last night. It was way cool! It was one of the strongest times that I've felt the spirit. They were both here to celebrate the mtc's 50th aniversary. There have been over 680,000 missionaries to learn at the mtc since then. Crazy huh? Elder Holland committed all of us to "honor the call to serve." He always has such power when he speaks. Elder Nelson gave a dedicatory prayer that was really cool. Not sure if I've ever really had an opportunity to experience something like that.
Mom, if it's no extra trouble, I'd love for you to get that bike stuff. If not I can totally just buy it out in the field. pillow? I don't really care all that hard. and I have that info about PMG/flying with extra clothes. :)
They really limit our email time here. But remember: the church is true. the Book of Mormon is true. Knowning that the Book of Mormon is true proves that Joseph Smith was a prophet; it proves that everything we teach in our church is true. And I know it. :)
I love you all! You're in my prayers :)

Nelson emailed Megan separately, and here's a little bit of what he said:
"So, funny fact to tell mom... I'm the best piano player in my whole zone.  Almost no one else plays, and the ones that do only play Sweet Hour of Prayer.  So, if I'm not the chorister, I'm the pianist. haha.  Go ahead and let mom have a moment of "I told you so." lol
